Where are they now? Reality winners

    Chico Slimani
After appearing on the 2005 X Factor Chico has released a string of flop singles, toured Butlins Holiday camps and appeared on the reality TV show CelebAir.

    Gareth Gates
After initial success after finishing as Pop Idol runner-up to Will Young in 2002 Gareth's pop career fizzled out. He's recently moved into musical theatre and is starring in Joseph.

    One True Voice
Beaten by Girls Aloud in the 2002 show Popstars: The Rivals they soon split. Matt is now in a band called State Warning, Daniel, Anton, and Jamie have low key solo careers and Keith is in a rock band called 7th Heaven.

    Leon Jackson
The 2007 X-Factor winner released his debut album last summer, but after poor sales he has since been dropped by his label. He is said to be trying to salvage a 2009 summer tour.

    Phixx
The boys from Popstars: The Rivals that didn't make it into One True Voice, Phixx actually lasted longer. They have all had a stab as solo singers but have since faded from view.

    Liberty X
Popstars runners-up to Hear'Say, Liberty X had much greater success. Now Jessica and Michelle are realty TV stars, Tony a TV presenter, while Kevin and Kelli are having a go solo.

    Hear'Say
The UK's first reality pop band fell apart soon after their second album. Now, Myleene has a hugely successful TV career, Kym too in Corrie, Suzanne in musicals and reality TV, Noel less so in musicals, and Danny is trying his hand at TV and singing solo.

    Steve Brookstein
Winner of the first X Factor in 2004 Steve's star faded very quickly. Since the show he has continued to record and perform and has recently helped his wife Eileen, write and record her debut album.

    David Sneddon
The winner of the first ever Fame Academy, David's star was another to fade quickly. Now he records occasionally, while focusing on his career as a songwriter.

    Shayne Ward
Having released a hugely successful debut album and a less successful follow up, it's make or break time for Shayne as he readies his third, due for release this summer.
