    1) Reduce carb intake after 6pm

    2) Cut down on alcohol and fatty foods

    Calories from alcohol and fatty foods make a beeline to a woman's thighs, bottom and hips. 'There are typically 120 calories in a gin and tonic, and 116 in a glass of white wine, so cutting back on these high calorie foods will help you to lose weight more quickly from these areas,' assures Joe.

    3) Work them stairs

    'Walk up the stairs two at a time without holding onto the banister for a quick and easy cardio burn and bum toner' says Maz Turley, a personal trainer at The Third Space gym, www.thethirdspace.com, who helped Neris Thomas and India Knight shed five stones for hit book, The Idiot Proof Diet.

    4) Step-up to sexiness

    Stand behind a platform or step of 15 inches or more. Place one foot onto the platform, and transfer your weight through the heel of that foot to step onto the platform. Use your other leg to maintain balance and follow with your other foot onto platform.

    5) Keep your abs tight and spine neutral the whole time

    6) Go in leg circles

    Lie straight on your right side with your right arm supporting your head and your left hand on the floor in front of you for balance. Fire up your leg muscles and point your toes.

    Keeping your body and legs in a straight line, lift your left leg one foot away from the floor and circle it clockwise for 30 seconds (imagine drawing little circles on the wall with your toe), then anticlockwise for another 30 seconds. Lower the leg, turn over and do the other side.

    7) Bridge your way to a better bum

    Do like Madonna, Jake Gyllenhaal and Nicole Kidman and make butt-boosting yoga a regular part of your life. "The simple bridge pose is excellent for great bum," says celebrity yoga trainer Subodh Gupta.

    "Initially hold this post for about 30 seconds and breathe normally. As you feel more comfortable with the pose, gradually increase the holding time to up to two minutes. Regular practice will certainly lead towards a toned posterior."

    8) Leg it!

    While the air's warm and the evenings light, slap on your iPod and run for 20 minutes, three times a week. "You'll burn more calories both during and after exercise, and tone your legs and bum a treat" says Joe Fournier.

    9) Gorge on grapefruit

    Grapefruit helps speed the metabolism of fat and is high in fat-burning enzymes. "Kylie Minogue was said to have the fruit with every meal at one stage, and she has a fantastic bum!" says Joe. The rest of the hot-blooded world concurs.

    10) Start cycling

    One of the best butt-busting exercises! Try a spin class or a long weekend ride. every time you push your pedals your butt muscles will be getting firmer and fitter! "Forty minutes of spinning can burn more than 2000kJ!" says Fitness First personal trainer, Dan Fivey.
