Football programmes
You have spent a small fortune following your team over the years – why not recoup some of your money by flogging your old programmes. Sets for an entire season or rare programmes in good condition will fetch the best prices.
First Edition books
You never know you might have a first edition copy of Hamlet knocking around your loft worth millions! First editions of classics are always sought after for instance a copy of James Joyce's Dubliners could net you over ₤37,000.
Coins and notes
Most of us have coins passed down to us from relatives – might be worth getting them valued. Complete sets tend to be worth more to collector but individual rare coins can also fetch fancy prices. A five pound note, in good condition, from 1902 could be sold for around ₤800-₤1000.
Medals
Given the fact that the last century had two World Wars, there are no shortage of medals knocking around but some medals are rarer and worth more than others. A Victoria Cross from the First World War could be worth ₤70,000 whilst a Military Cross from World War II could fetch ₤1,000.
Records
So you think those old records in the loft are only fit for a boot sale? Think again, rare and signed album copies could make you thousands. A signed Jimi Hendrix album for instance might be valued at ₤1,000-plus. You could also make a killing on any rare or limited edition records you have.
Stamps
There is no telling what a stamp is worth unless you get it valued by a dealer. The rarer the stamp and the better condition it is, the better. Any stamp from the old British Colonies is worth checking out.
Clocks
That old grandfather clock from your Granny's hallway may be worth more than it looks. A well serviced, working clock in some cases over 200 years old may command a tidy sum from an antique enthusiast.
Paintings
There have been many famous stories over the years of famous paintings found covered in dust in the attic. For instance a Graham Sutherland painting was once found behind a water tank. Even if you don't have an old master in loft see what is up there and get a valuation.
Old Cameras
The fact that an old camera is no longer working does not mean it is worthless. Collectors will pay good money for vintage camera models. Even 70s instant Polaroids can fetch a few bob.
Autographs
Signed photographs are always worth more than autographs on bits of paper. Letters to fans may also be worth considerably more depending on the celebrity in question of course!! A signed photo of Paul McCartney, Eric Clapton might fetch you a good sum.
