Psychic celebs

Cilla Black recently closed her psychic hotline, the £1.50-a-minute Destiny Calls, after getting in a lorra lorra trouble with Ofcom about how much she was plugging it on the telly. The poor chuck claims that her husband Bobby told her to set it up from beyond the grave, but which other celebs reckon they have spooky powers?

Perhaps people shouldn't be too surprised about Cilla's endeavours with premium rate guessing games. After all, Dionne Warwick endorsed the Psychic Friends Network in the 1990s, and has long complained that the growling pro-scouser copied her every career move in the '60s. However, she didn't see this one coming.

Former First Lady Nancy Reagan was rumoured to take a keen interest in the paranormal during her husband's years in charge. Ronnie's chief of staff later revealed that she'd consulted an astrologer in order to determine the president's schedule, and avoid more assassination attempts.

You'd think that telepathic siblings were mainly the preserve of shows like Home and Away, but real-life twins Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen reckon they can read each other's minds. "We both carry the weight of each other," Ashley told Marie Claire, as Mary Kate's head started spinning.

Regular viewers of Loose Women will mysteriously be aware of occasional guest presenter Josie D'Arby's claims to have psychic powers. Sadly, these are often along the lines of somebody phoning when you've just been thinking about them, but whatever you say love...

Corrie's Ken Barlow may be a committed sceptic, but the actor who plays him is a believer in all things supernatural. In his time, William Roache claims to have seen a grey ghost on the toilet; been haunted by his mother in law; and spotted a blue Buddha hovering over his bed. We guess it's more believable than Ken's relationship with Stephanie Beacham...

"Liberace is my guardian angel", a straight-faced (though it's difficult to tell) Michael Jackson once declared to a jeering world. The King of Pop claims that he even had a secret room where the long-dead ivory-tinkler can talk to him in private. You'd think that even Liberace would have more sense...

Michael Hutchence died in 1997, but his ex-girlfriend Kylie Minogue thinks that his ghost is still hanging around. "People might think I'm mad, but I feel his presence," reckons the pert-rumped Aussie squeaker. "He checks in with me and it's typical of him that I feel his presence just when I need him most."

"I see dead people", honked Toni Collette's on-screen son in The Sixth Sense. But Ms Collette reckons that she has abilities of her own. "I've always been aware there was another dimension to life", she has said, before declaring that she and her father have felt her dead grandmother's presence. Creepy.

Has Anthony Head had too many cups of instant coffee? The Buffy star reckons that his house in Bath is being haunted by a little girl's ghost, and that she's putting off the builders by flapping curtains next to open windows on blustery days. They'll say anything for a longer tea-break, won't they?
