It's been a rough few weeks for diminutive pop poppet Rachel Stevens. Not only did she have to duck gunfire in a restaurant, but she was mugged on her own doorstep by a scoundrel who made off with her engagement ring, necklace and Rolex. Perhaps the perp took her album title, Come And Get It, rather too literally. Find out which other celebs have been victims of crime...

Plenty of us find the ubiquity of Myleene Klass irritating. However, it's a giant leap from muttering at her constant presence on the idiot lantern to chucking a bag of chips over her head and happy-slapping her while your mates film it on their mobiles. The fragrant ex-Hear'say warbler fell victim to such an attack by a disgraceful gang of spotty youths near her home in Bermondsey in 2005.

Britain's unluckiest celeb, Kerry Katona, was held in her home at knifepoint by three masked men looking to make off with some of her assets. The star and her family escaped unharmed, but it was later revealed that the gang made off with goods in the region of £150k – leaving Kerry saying "See Ya" to a BMW M5 sports car, laptops, games consoles, two TVs and jewellery. Oof.

Another screeching scouser, Cilla Black, fell victim to such a fate when her Buckinghamshire pile was done over by violent thieves. Her jewellery collection – worth over £1million – was snaffled by the villains, and to make matters worse the cupid for the stupids had her insurance claim turned down on the basis that she had no locks on her downstairs windows. Rihanna was looking for a new fella-ella-ella in February after her then squeeze, Chris Brown, was arrested on charges of domestic assault. A photo of a battered Rihanna was leaked to the media and, after a high-profile court case, Brown plead guilty and was given five years' probation and six months of community service – which some would say isn't nearly enough.

Bosses at Liverpool FC were forced to consider special security cover for players' homes when Steven Gerrard had his gaff targeted by a gang of burglars. His WAG Alex Curran was left terrified when confronted by four balaclava-wearing burglars – a gang believed to be responsible for other break-ins at the homes of Peter Crouch, Jerzy Dudek and Daniel Agger.

It wasn't the best of times for actor Nic Cage when he was forced to grapple with a semi-naked man who had broken into his LA home. The intruder, who'd decided to half-cover himself with one of the Hollywood star's leather jackets, found himself being dragged outside by the actor – and after a quick phone call to security, the prowler was gone in 60 seconds. Weird.

What's more frightening? Having an intruder in your home in the dead of night, or being an intruder and coming face to face with Ozzy Osbourne? The Black Sabbath frontman famously confronted thieves in his Buckinghamshire pile and tackled one of the intruders. However, another leapt from a first floor window and vanished into the night with an apparent £2million in jewels.

Who could possibly dislike Danielle Lloyd? Actually, don't answer that. Still, nobody deserves to be picked up in a nightclub and thrown onto a table full of drinking glasses – a vicious and seemingly unprovoked attack which left the Celebrity Big Brother contestant requiring emergency plastic surgery on her leg. And yes, Shilpa had an alibi for the entire evening.
