Celebrities in bloom

It's the height of fashion for celebs to skip pregnancy and instead select their offspring from some kind of genetic Benetton catalogue à la Madonna and Angelina. However, there are still plenty of stars who prefer to have kids the good old fashioned way, such as GMTV presenter Kate Garraway and her husband Derek Draper, who are expecting their second child in July.

Vernon Kaye is soon going to have to cope with his very own family fortune. His wife, Tess Daley, announced that she was pregnant over Christmas – meaning she's due just days before the pitter-patter of Strictly Come Dancing 2009 is set to begin.

Holly Willoughby's chest was the star of last year's Dancing On Ice, but this year her stomach has been grabbing all the headlines. Her first baby is due in the spring.

Fans of, er, unusual baby names will be looking forward to Jools Oliver's third arrival in March. She and Jamie have so far come up with names more that would be appropriate as a coating for chicken wings (Poppy Honey), or for the cartoon ghost of a scatterbrained cow (Daisy Boo).

She's known for her roles in Buffy and How I Met Your Mother, but give Alyson Hannigan a few years and she'll be having to explain how she became a mum instead. The actress will give birth to her first child in April.

We're not likely to see supermodel Heidi Klum in maternity dungarees from Mothercare any time soon. However, her fourth baby – and her third with husband Seal – is also due this spring. We're starting to wonder what they put in the stars' tap water last July...

Coronation Street actress Jane Danson, who plays Leanne, is expecting her second child with her husband Robert Beck - and is due in March.

Parminder Nagra will be swapping the emergency room for the maternity ward this summer when she gives birth to her first child with her partner James Stenson.
